PXG was founded less than 10 years ago and established themselves as one of the leading brands in golf. The 0341 XF Fairway woods are aimed at players who are looking for forgiveness, hence the XF name (Extreme Forgiveness) and at players that struggle to hit balls of the turf and hit more than their fair share of fat shots. PXG have added a pair of rails to the sole to stop it digging in and causing fat shots.

The club’s top is made from carbon fibre and gets a vapor treatment to add strength without increasing weight in any way. The same technology is used in their new GEN4 drivers. Using this aluminium vapor-reinforced carbon fibre helps lower the centre of gravity to create a hybrid with a higher launch angle and more spin. By making the 0341 XF larger from heel to toe designers were able to increase the MOI (moment of inertia) and make them much more forgiving and stable on the dreaded miss-hit.

The high-strength HT1770 stainless steel face flexes easily to produce those blistering ball speeds PXG are famous for. The 0341 XF also features an internal vibration dampening insert in the sole, this gives the sound and feel PXG are very happy with. This is called a TPE insert (Thermoplastic Elastomer).

With an adjustable hosel set-up that can be adjusted to increase or decrease the stated loft by 1.5º. The two sole weights are also interchangeable to fine-tune spin and bias should you so wish. The weights themselves are not designed to be adjusted by golfers themselves, more for fitters to create the ideal swing weight and enhance draw weight.

The looks as you can see for yourself are fantastic from any angle, the matt black and silver carbon fibre is beautiful. The mix of silver branding and white numbering is also spot-on. The iconic white ”X” for shot alignment is also proudly displayed.
